Criminal Defense Lawyer Joe Keegan Makes the Boston / Quincy News
Our firm’s very own Joe Keegan recently appeared on Fox News Boston to share his thoughts and commentary on a controversial case involving a Massachusetts State Trooper who was allegedly involved in a fatal drunk driving accident. The Trooper was charged with operating under the influence (OUI) after he was involved in a two car crash on September 22 that resulted in the death of a mother and her 23-year-old daughter.
The case has been garnering considerable attention and numerous questions. According to police reports, the accident occurred shortly after midnight on Federal Furnace Road when the Trooper was driving home from a party in Wareham. Witnesses at the party told law enforcement officers that the Trooper had only consumed one beer, but chemical tests registered a blood alcohol level of .19 – more than double the legal limit of .08 percent. Additionally, the accident report states that the woman driving the other vehicle crossed over the line and struck the Trooper’s car.
In addition to being charged with OUI, the trooper is facing charges for possession of a firearm while intoxicated and improper storage of a firearm. He also suffered a hip injury during the collision. He pleaded not guilty to all charges in Plymouth District Court.
